Crab and noise

Posted by Luna (Osaka, Japan) on 16 February 2009 in Cityscape & Urban.

The giant mechanical crab near the Dotombori has always fascinated me.. but I can never get the right picture. This is probably the seventh shot I've tried to take of this capture.

When I first came to this area, it was on the way to a nifty Indian restaurant with a バイキング, or in English, buffet. One of the first things I saw was the giant mechanical crab that could move its legs and claws, and I was absolutely fascinated with it! The restaurant the crab is on is famous of course for its crab, but is also notoriously expensive.

The Sammy EBISU Plaza was formerly home to Kuiadore - which I'm not too familiar with, but had a scary red-and-white striped dressed clown that played the drum, and was life-sized. Unfortunately the restaurant closed down, and the drum-playing statue was removed, and a new Taisho-period re-enacting Shotengai (shopping mall-like area) was put in its place.

There's just always so much going on in the Namba/Shinsaibashi area..
