Let's cook!Posted by Luna (Osaka, Japan) on 15 April 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. At Hikone, this little fellow was posted all over the place - his face adorning keychains, stickers, t-shirts, pencils, snacks.. all sorts of stuff. First, I thought it was a seal, while my friend thought it was a dog. After doing some research, this mascot turns out to be a cat named Hikonyan! Many places, companies, and products have cute mascots that represent them.. it's crazy to keep track of them all, and to see the incredible merchandise that comes out. One of my favorite examples would be the mascot for TV Osaka named Takoru-kun which is a dog whose head resembles takoyaki, a food for where Osaka is famous for making. Oh, those mascots.. snippet about this photoblog This photoblog is mostly to cover my experiences and adventures on the JET Programme as an Osaka City ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) through photographs, from beginning to end.
