Heian Jingu guardian

On my birthday I headed out to Kyoto to check out Heian Jingu, a Shinto shrine that hosts Jidai Matsuri, a major festival in Kyoto that's held here.

This is the shrine you come across after passing by one of the largest torii gates in Japan.
